To honor the patron of Città della Pieve, San Luigi Gonzaga, the inhabitants of the district “Terziere del Casalino” creates an original “infiorata”. This happens every year in the month of June.
The “infiorata”, as the name indicates, is a floral compositions.
There are many different compositions that requires a lot of work and a long preparation. The designs are made during a single night fresh flower petals.
Using only flowers and herbs of different colors people obtain very particular ornamental shapes and motifs.
These perfumed and colored carpets create a very suggestive show on the city streets.
The infiorata festival is also music and entertainment: on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon visitors are accompanied by music and shows.
The infiorata is the beginning of the summer events in Città della Pieve.
