We want to show ours guests the way to could make new dishes, both tasty and local, but easy to prepare so that you'll be able to cook them at home for your family and friends. We have lived here from generations and have therefore prepared a programmed to show you the best of our history, art, our food and wine. PROGRAM: DAY 1 (Saturday afternoon) · Transferring from the airport to Malagronda by our transport (or by your own transport) · Allocation of rooms or apartments ( to see the apartments browse the site again ) · Welcome Dinner in our cozy dinning room on the Malagronda Residence. · Presentation of the week’s programmed - colloquial DAY 2 (Sunday) · Breakfast · Departure to Assisi – Umbrian City. (Superb medieval citadel, St Francis birthplace, built on the foot of Subasio Mountain and “still” surrounded by the ancient walls from the castle “La Rocca”) · Visit to Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels and the hermitage on the Subasio Mountain · Lunch at restaurant “La Stalla” · Visit to wonderful Basilica of St Francis · Free time for a walk around the old center · Return to Malagronda · Dinner with music and dancing in the beautiful “Sala delle Vele” in the restaurant “Il Mondo Antico” in Piegaro (*Fine Umbrian cooking accompanied by good wines*) Views of "Mondo Antico" (at a fine restaurant) DAY 3 (Monday) · Breakfast · Departure to Val D’Orcia in Tuscany · Tour with wine tasting at Banfi’s wine cellar and visit to the Glass and Bottle museum in Montalcino (Montalcino has a splendid view of Meridian Tuscany to Lazio onto the vineyards that produce the grape for the famous “Brunello” wine) · Short Visit to Pienza (Renaissance City the poet G. Pascoli describes as “A City born from a thought of love and a dream of beauty”) · Lunch at the restaurant “Dal Falco” in Pienza · Wine tasting at the antique cellars “Redi” in Montepulciano (Montepulciano is described as the “Pearl of the 16th century” for the work applied by famous renaissance artists. Its production of the Nobile wine has been known since 790 AD) · Backing to Malagronda · Cooking course: Preparation of “risotto”, stuffing for roast meat and vegetables · Dinner at Malagronda included sampling the dishes made during the lesson DAY 4 (Tuesday) · Breakfast · Departure for the Etruscan City of Chiusi in Tuscany (Chiusi was known as “Chamars”, the city of the Etruscans and King Porsenna who once beat Rome at war) · Tour of the Catacombs, the cathedral and the collection of antique Benedict “Miniatureted codicillus” (Codici Miniati) and the Etruscan aqueduct · Visit to Etruscan museum and tombs · Lunch at Malagronda · Cooking course. Preparation of soup with legumes, various types of bread, “torta al testo” (local bread), “brustengoli” and “strufoli” (types of cakes) and other desserts · Dinner at Malagronda sampling the dishes accomplained during the lesson and tasting Umbrian wines eating typical cheeses and salami DAY 5 (Wednesday) · Breakfast · Departure for Perugia (Master city of Umbria) (A city constructed on an Etruscan/Roman nucleus where the masters of the medieval and renaissance modeled an urban ambience of unimaginable atmosphere) · Tour inside “Rocca Paolina” castle, the medieval “Sala dei Notari” (noblesses meeting hall) and “Collegio del Cambio” (College of Exchangers), the “Maggiore” fountain and the Cathedral · Free time going discovering the center · Lunch at “Dal mi’cocco” restaurant · Visit to the *Ceramic workshops* in Deruta (near Perugia) · Return to Malagronda · Cooking course: Preparation of meat canapé, potato “gnocchi” (pasta), fried meats and various vegetables · Dinner in Malagronda sampling the dishes prepared during the lesson DAY 6 (Thursday) · Breakfast · Departure to Orvieto (Umbria) (City of Etruscan origins that perches on a hill of tufa. Its famous for its wines, an architectural Jewel, which has Romanesque and gothic works with beautiful renaissance palaces) · Tour inside Cathedral and “Cappella” of Saint Brizio · Tour of “Orvieto Underground” · Free time going exploring the center · Lunch in Pizzeria · Short visit to the town of Todi · Backing to Malagronda · *Medieval Dinner* in the restaurant “Il Mondo Antico” in Piegaro (The restaurant’s medieval atmosphere will be enhanced by the service “in costume” - the menu will have some typical Tuscan specialties) DAY 7 (Friday) · Breakfast · Departure to Tuoro sul Trasimeno (Umbria) (where took place, in 217 BC, one of the most famous ancient battles, the “Battle of Lake Trasimeno” between the Romans and the Carthaginians of King Hannibal)…..legends spoke about his gold carriage below the underfloor of the lake…..that day lake was red by bloodhound…… · Visit to the place of the battle and to the museum · Visit to the sculptures of “Campo del Sole” · Tour of Lake Trasimeno · Lunch at “Da Massimo” restaurant in San Feliciano (the menu will include typical specialities prepared with the *fish of* the Lake Trasimeno but changes are possible for people who do not like fish) · Return to Malagronda · Cooking course. Preparation of traditional menus originally made only in certain maded free days, and for Christmas: preparation of “ragu” (special sauce for pasta), roast meat and various vegetables coffee break preparation of home made pasta: “tagliatelle”, “ravioli” and “cappelletti” (the typical Umbrian “tortellini”) · Dinner in Malagronda sampling the dishes accomplained during the lesson · After the dinner all the guests will receive a certificate and a present as we hope “remembership” of the week DAY 8 (Saturday morning) · Breakfast · Transfer to the airport All the visits to the various towns, monuments, churches and museums, will be guided in English (or French on request) with an expert guide. During the cooking courses there will always be an English-speaking person present. Included in the price is seven nights in a double room, four cooking lessons, all the meals listed in the programmed, museum entrances, the guides, the wine tasting in the programmed, daily tours and the transfers to and from the airport.
